Case 3

Try your best

You try your best, but sometimes you forget to take your medications. And, when you're in a bind for food, you have to eat the white rice and pork that is served at the cafeteria. You don't have the time or facilities to cook your own meals, and after your work responsibilities picked up, you no longer have the time to buy the healthy fruits and vegetables from the market that the student suggested you snack on.

After four more months, the race season is nearing its end. It is almost time to return to Florida. When you go to the clinic for a follow up, you find that you have lost ten pounds. You are excited about this, but when your blood work comes back, the doctor tells you that there's still a long way to go. He wants to work with you year-round, but that would mean you'd have to give up your job for your health.

You can't imagine doing that. This job is all you have. Plus, where would you live? Where would you find friends? Would your trainer expose your undocumented status?

What do you do?
