Case 3

Continue Work

You tell the doctor that you cannot give up your job. He understands, but tells you that he can only do so much during the six months that you are away in Florida.

While in Florida, you run out of your medications. Because of your last experience there, you're discouraged from seeking healthcare.

When you return to New York the next year, the pain in your hands and feet is worse, as is your vision. The doctor says that your blood sugar level has gone back up, and that there is protein in your urine, explaining that you could have kidney damage.
