The next day, your brain feels empty. You cannot stop thinking about what that officer did to you, how uncomfortable it made you feel. You think about reporting him, but you worry that nobody will believe you. After all, you're a man, you should have been able to defend yourself.

You sift through the pamphlets that were given to you during your intake, and come across the zero tolerance sexual assault policy. There is a form to fill out, instructions on how to submit it, and a phone number you can call for support. The next page, though, outlines consequences for false accusation. If the investigation finds that there was a false accusation of sexual assault, you could be restricted to solitary confinement for the rest of your time in detention.

You wonder if this is a battle you will ever win.
