The Car

One day, while you at your old, rickety home, you see an expensive, slick-looking car drive through your village. You are confused. It's been months since you've seen a vehicle like that.

A few hours later, your neighbor comes knocking on your door. She tells you that she was out in her yard when the car stopped her. It was filled with big, tall men, she said. And then she said something that made your heart stop: They asked for your husband.

When your husband comes home, you tell him what happened. He says that he has made up his mind, and that he and your son will leave for the US the next morning. You want to go with him, but you are worried about traveling while pregnant.
