You, your daughter, and your newborn baby walk and hitchhike your way to the border, spending many of your nights under trees or in abandoned buildings if you're lucky enough to find them. You go several days without food, and after a few weeks, you find that you are unable to breastfeed your son. The journey is extremely difficult with a newborn, and he looks severely malnourished with each passing day. It takes almost a full year to get to Juarez, but when you finally do, you count your blessings. Your daughter has halted her education for your journey, and you're hoping that once you get to the United States, she can finally focus on her future.
