Case 3
Spanish
When the officers approach you, you start to tell them what happened. They can't understand you, though, and you quickly switch to the broken English that you can muster. They seem to understand that you need to go to the hospital, and signal for the other men in uniforms to come along.
They wheel out a bright yellow stretcher. One of the officers is talking to your friend who called the police, trying to communicate something to her about money. You remember your coworker having to go to the hospital last year, who said that the ambulance cost him almost $1,000. You wonder if that's what they're talking about.
You don't have insurance. $1,000 is nearly a month's work.
What do you do?
